Essay On Short Film Aiga

The short film Aiga has shown a variety of film aspects. The film aspects used in this short film was extreme close up, long shot, Two shot and lastly the type of music that was playing in the background of the scene where the boy is sad.

Extreme close up was used efficiently when the sister hugged her brother. The reason for this is that you can see the shocked facial expression he was making and in the background his sister was pouring her eyes out. The director did this to show the depression the sister has when she suddenly found out the mum died. This linked back to the brother being shocked  and the close up of his face. The director used this film aspect to show the audience that the boy is confused on what is going on.

However not only was the extreme long shot used but also they used long shot. This is demonstrated when the boy is slouching on the couch. The reason for this is that the boy is feeling depressed because of the death of his mum. The long shot is shown when the boy is sitting on the couch and the camera is quite far but not as far from the boy and there is other people around him. The director used this film aspect to give the audience a bit of depression around how th boy is feeling and all his emotions around the bad news that had happened.

Two shot was used effectively. A example of the two shot would be in the scene where the sister of the boy is hugging him. The explanation for this would be because the mother recently passed and the girl was hugging her brother because of the pain and sadness inside he heart that is when the perfect two shot was taken. The director did this to show the audience that something bad has just happened.

The type of music that was playing had a very good but sad meaning to it. A example of this would be when it was the mum’s funeral there was a low and sad type of music that was in that exact scene. The explanation for this is that by how the music is it shows that the mum has suddenly past away. I think the director did this to give a depressed feeling to the audience.

In conclusion all these film aspects had there high and lows.

From extreme close up and long shots to two shot and the type of music used through the scene where the boy is depressed. Now knowing that the director probably wanted to tell people to appreciate others while they are still there.
